Our School Council is made of children from each class, supported by Mrs Morcom. They are representatives of their class and help to make decisions to improve the school.
The School Council has been working hard this term on our aims to reduce waste in school. The Council decided that it was important to highlight how much rubbish and waste we produce as a school and to suggest ways to improve this. Firstly we have reassigned one of the outside bins as the Recycling Bin. This will be emptied and sorted by the council on a regular basis to ensure that the rubbish is sorted appropriately.
We are also trying to tackle food waste at lunch and after the Council’s assembly staff were thrilled by the instant change in how much less food was being wasted. This is a target we will continue to work on next year.
